Soundview Little League beat Idaho when it counted the most Thursday, winning the Northwest Region championship game by an 8-5 score.
The team from Northeast Tacoma, Browns Point and other parts of the city avenged a 9-3 loss to Idaho in a Tuesday semifinal.
In between was an 8-2 victory over Oregon in a second semifinal attempt.
Soundview entered the tournament for all-star baseball players age 10-12 played in San Bernardino, Calif. as the Washington state champions.
Now it will represent the Northwest at the upcoming Little League World Series to be played in Williamsport, Penn.
Soundview opens with a 3 p.m. Wednesday game against the Southeast champions. The winner plays the Southwest champions next Friday.
