Soundview Little League of Northeast Tacoma captured the all-star baseball District 10 championship for ages 9-11 with a 4-3 Saturday morning victory over South Hill of Puyallup.
The win capped off an undefeated run through the tournament played at the Federal Way National complex.
Soundview opened with a 10-0 decision Tuesday over South Hill and followed that up with a 3-2 win over Bonney Lake/Sumner in Thursday's winner's bracket final to reach Saturday's championship.
Federal Way National opened with a 10-0 win Monday over Steel Lake but lost by the same score to Bonney Lake/Sumner the next day and bowed out with a 12-6 loss to Auburn on Wednesday.
Steel Lake's stay ended with a 19-2 Tuesday loss to Chinook.
As the District 10 champion Soundview advances to the state tournament at Lynndale Park in Lynnwood that opens Saturday, July 11.
Soundview also reached the winner's bracket final in the softball age 10-12 District 10 Majors tournament at Sunset Park in Auburn but lost the Thursday game, 14-0, to Bonney Lake/Sumner and lost Friday's loser's bracket final to South Hill, 15-0.
Soundview opened with a 13-3 drubbing of Chinook on Monday and a 24-9 Tuesday victory over Auburn.
National fell to South Hill, 15-0, in its opener Monday and bounced back for a 22-12 win over Auburn on Wednesday before losing, 16-0, in a Thursday rematch against South Hill.
