Soundview Little League blasted its way through the District 10 Major baseball all-star tournament for ages 10-12 with four decisive wins this week.
The team from Northeast Tacoma wrapped up the championship Saturday with a 12-0 victory over South Hill of Puyallup at the Federal Way National complex.
Soundview opened the tournament with a 10-0 win over Auburn this past Monday and breezed by Chinook of Enumclaw, 10-1, the next day.
That sent the team on to a winner's bracket final game Thursday against South Hill that it won by a 10-0 score to advance directly into the championship game.
Federal Way National took a 12-3 loss to Chinook in its Monday opener before being eliminated by Auburn the next night, 10-0.
As the District 10 champions Soundview advances to the state tournament that opens Saturday, July 18 at Veteran's Fields in Walla Walla.
The state champion reaches the San Bernardino regional tournament in California with the regional champion going on to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Penn.
Soundview also played South Hill for the Junior age 13 championship at Pete's Pool in Enumclaw and took an 11-10 loss in Friday's provisional final and also lost Saturday's if-necessary game, 16-11, to finish second.
Soundview opened with a 13-3 victory over Steel Lake last Monday and posted a 26-15 win Wednesday over Bonney Lake/Sumner in the winner's bracket final.
South Hill started its trek back through the loser's bracket with a 17-2 elimination of Steel Lake on Tuesday.
The District 10 age 9-11 softball tournament played at Sunset Park in Auburn was only composed of South Hill and Soundview with South Hill winning both games that were played.
The Puyallup team prevailed by a 15-0 score in Monday's opener and also took Tuesday's provisional championship, 13-3.
