Federal Way fell five points shy of Lincoln of Tacoma in its state Class 3A final 12 opener Wednesday, ending the Eagles' season.
The Eagles succumbed to the Abes by a 53-48 score in the afternoon boys basketball action at the Tacoma Dome.
Lincoln entered state play as the No. 6 seeded team this past weekend and Federal Way came in as the No. 14 seed.
But Lincoln lost its state regional game to No. 3 Garfield as the Eagles knocked off No. 11 Auburn Mountainview, 49-41, in the Lions' home gymnasium.
Auburn Mountainview and Federal Way split two games during the regular season, with the Lions taking the North Puget Sound League Class 3A division title ahead of the Eagles.
Federal Way is coached by former Eagles' player Yattah Reed.
