The Storm comes home to the Climate Pledge Arena to battle the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. Tuesday on Fox 13+ and CBSSN.

Mariners

First-place Seattle hosts the Houston Astros for games at T-Mobile Park at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday and 1:10 p.m. Thursday.

Next up is the Los Angeles Angels, who fly in for action at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 4:15 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday.

The Mariners are off to Oakland to play at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.

This Friday's action can be seen on Apple TV+ and Saturday's on Channel 13 with the rest on ROOT Sports Northwest.

Sounders

Seattle entertains Salt Lake at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lumen Field with Apple TV+ carrying the action live.

Eagles' Atkins jumps to two titles

Federal Way senior Cassandra Atkins jumped her way to two titles in the Class 4A portion of the state track and field meet that took place Thursday through Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma.

Atkins won the long jump Thursday with an effort of 19 feet, 9.75 inches and followed that up with a triple jump title Friday at 39-9.25.

And she wasn't done yet.

Atkins also took third place in the 200-meter dash on Saturday in a time of 25.35 seconds.

Also earning his way onto the top spot on the awards stand at the meet was Federal Way teammate Geron White.

White won the boys Class 4A high jump title at 6-6.

White was also fourth in the triple jump at 44-1 and 13th in the javelin throw at a distance of 141-10.

Keith Rogers Jr. of Todd Beamer snagged sixth place in the 3A boys 300 hurdles with a time of 40.70.

Federal Way placed eighth in the boys 400-meter relay with a 43.09 clocking.

Decatur's Mariah Siva was eighth in the 4A girls shot put at 37-3.

Shane Kang of Thomas Jefferson notched ninth in the 3A boys javelin finals at 155-2 and Kia Taylor of TJ took 10th in the girls shot put at 35-0.25.

Adam Thomas of TJ finished 11th in the boys triple jump at 42-0.25.

Jazlyn Jones of Federal Way tied for 13th in the 4A girls pole vault at 10-6 and Sam Wah of the Eagles finished 14th in the boys long jump at 19-10.

Federal Way's Jason Page placed 16th in the boys discus for 4A at 107-11.

The Federal Way girls took ninth as a team with 26 points.

Goretski places in state golf

Decatur High School junior Hudson Goretski earned his way into the second day of action to place in the state Class 4A boys golf tournament.

Goretski wound up tying for 59th place, shooting rounds of 79 and 85 on the Indian Canyon course in Spokane for a total of 164.

Two Thomas Jefferson golfers made the Class 3A tournament at the Hawks Prairie course in Lacey but missed the cut for a second day.

Brandon Bao turned in a first day score of 91 and Aiden Bao came in at 93.

Both are juniors.

The tournaments took place Tuesday and Wednesday.

Field and running events both start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Tennis

Boys and girls Class 3A action takes place Friday and Saturday at the Vancouver Tennis Center with Class 4A play in Kennewick.

Action starts at 8 a.m. both days.

Golf

State action concludes this Wednesday.

The Class 3A boys play at Hawks Prairie in Lacey and the Class 3A girls at Eagles Pride in DuPont.

Class 4A boys action can be found at Indian Canyon in Spokane and the 4A girls are playing at The Creek at Qualchan course in Spokane.

Gators fall shy of state

So close and yet so far.

Decatur almost knocked off top seeded Olympia early in the Class 4A District 3/4 girls fastpitch softball tournament to grab a quick trip to state, but eventually wound up being left out of the state picture entirely.

The Gators opened the district tournament held at the Kent Service Club by beating Sumner, 3-0, Friday afternoon before taking a 4-3 evening loss to Olympia.

Decatur bounced back to blast Kentridge Saturday morning, 11-3, to get back on the verge of going to next week's state tournament in the Tri-Cities.

The Gators missed with a 7-1 loss to Battle Ground.

They got one last chance to qualify in a loser-out, winner-to-state game against Puyallup, but came up short by a 6-4 score.

Thomas Jefferson

The Raiders had a short two game and out stay at the Class 3A version of the District 3/4 festivities held at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.

TJ opened by being swept away by the Gig Harbor Tides, 16-1, Thursday morning.

That dropped the Raiders into an early afternoon loser- out game against Kelso, which they lost by a 30-0 score.

State 3A play will take place at the same complex in Lacey next week.

Friday the Mariners play the first of three games in Baltimore starting at 4:05 p.m.

The teams meet again at 1:05 p.m. Saturday and 10:35 a.m. Sunday.

Monday it's off to New York for four against the Yankees.

The action starts at 4:05 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of a 9:35 a.m. game next Thursday.

Todd Beamer will get a second chance despite being outgunned at Silas of Tacoma in its District 3/4 playoff opener Saturday. 

The Titans face Auburn Mountainview in loser-out match at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Auburn Memorial.

Auburn Mountainview won its loser-out playoff opener by a 4-0 score over Evergreen of Vancouver on Saturday.

Tuesday's winner lives to play again Thursday.

Baseball

Decatur at Puyallup

Decatur's playoff opener has been announced as taking place at 7 p.m. Tuesday with Puyallup as the home team.

The Gators find themselves in a double-elimination situation.

Tuesday's game will take place at Heritage Park.

TJ at Bonney Lake

Thomas Jefferson finds itself in a loser-out situation when it visits Bonney Lake for a 4 p.m. Tuesday playoff opener.

Thomas Jefferson tuned up for the postseason by trouncing Todd Beamer in a makeup game Thursday.

The Raiders open District 3/4 play with a 4 p.m. Tuesday visit to Bonney Lake.

The contest is loser-out.

TJ finished fourth in the North Puget Sound League's Class 3A Division at 7-5.  It enters district as the No. 14 seed while Bonney Lake is the No. 11 seed.

Bellevue Christian 10, Decatur 5

Decatur took a non-league loss Thursday, but the Gators still advance to the double-elimination portion of the Class 4A District 3/4 playoffs.

Decatur opens with a Tuesday visit to Puyallup.

The Gators finished in a three-way tie for third place in NPSL 4A play with Kentridge and Kentwood at 6-6.

Decatur is the district No. 8 seed and Puyallup is the No. 1.

Kentwood 8, Federal Way 7

The Eagles were edged in their season finale Wednesday.

Auburn Mountainview 6, TJ 4

Thomas Jefferson also lost a close game Wednesday.
