Boys basketball
Todd Beamer hosts Ridgeline for a state Class 3A opening round game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
The winner goes north to Mount Vernon for a 6 p.m. Saturday game and the loser is out.
Saturday's winner makes the Tacoma Dome the following Wednesday and the loser is out.
Federal Way finds itself in a much better situation in the Class 4A tournament.
The Eagles received a opening round bye, opening Friday instead with a 6 p.m. game against Gonzaga Prep at Central Valley of Spokane.
Both teams advance to the Tacoma Dome next week. The winner plays in a 7:15 Thursday state quarterfinal and the loser in a loser-out game at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Gymnastics
Sammamish High School hosts state action this Thursday through Saturday.
Class 4A team and all-around finals start at 6 p.m. Thursday with individual event finals at 10:45 a.m. Friday.
Class 1A, 2A and 3A sessions are at 1:40 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. Friday with team and all-around finals. Individual finals start at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Mariners
Spring training games open Saturday in Arizona for Seattle, with the Mariners visiting the Chicago White Sox at 12:05 p.m.
They host Cleveland at 12:10 p.m. Sunday in Peoria before visiting Cincinnati Monday and San Francisco Tuesday with 12:05 p.m. starts.
Saturday and Sunday's games will be televised on ROOT Sports Northwest.

Seattle opens its men's outdoor soccer season with a 1:30 p.m. Saturday visit to LAFC on Channel 13.

The UW entertains Oregon at 7 p.m. Friday and Oregon State at noon Sunday with both on Pac-12WA.

Husky softball
The Huskies visit Stetson at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in DeLand, Fla. before visiting South Florida for a tournament.
