High schools

Boys basketball

Todd Beamer hosts Ridgeline for a state Class 3A opening round game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The winner goes north to Mount Vernon for a 6 p.m. Saturday game and the loser is out.

Saturday's winner makes the Tacoma Dome the following Wednesday and the loser is out.

Federal Way finds itself in a much better situation in the Class 4A tournament.

The Eagles received a opening round bye, opening Friday instead with a 6 p.m. game against Gonzaga Prep at Central Valley of Spokane.

Both teams advance to the Tacoma Dome next week.  The winner plays in a 7:15 Thursday state quarterfinal and the loser in a loser-out game at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Gymnastics

Sammamish High School hosts state action this Thursday through Saturday.

Class 4A team and all-around finals start at 6 p.m. Thursday with individual event finals at 10:45 a.m. Friday.

Class 1A, 2A and 3A sessions are at 1:40 p.m. and 5:25 p.m. Friday with team and all-around finals.  Individual finals start at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

Pros

Mariners

Spring training games open Saturday in Arizona for Seattle, with the Mariners visiting the Chicago White Sox at 12:05 p.m.

They host Cleveland at 12:10 p.m. Sunday in Peoria before visiting Cincinnati Monday and San Francisco Tuesday with 12:05 p.m. starts.

Saturday and Sunday's games will be televised on ROOT Sports Northwest.

Sounders

Seattle opens its men's outdoor soccer season with a 1:30 p.m. Saturday visit to LAFC on Channel 13.

Kraken

Seattle entertains Vancouver for 7 p.m. Thursday action at the Climate Pledge Arena.

Minnesota comes to town at 7 p.m. Saturday and Boston visits at 7 p.m. Monday.

Thunderbirds

Seattle gets a 6:05 p.m. Saturday visit from the Everett Silvertips at the Showare Center in Kent.

The Kamloops Blazers invade at 5:05 p.m. Sunday and the Regina Pats at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Husky men

Washington visits Arizona State at 6 p.m. Thursday on ESPN2 and Arizona at 11 a.m. Saturday on Channel 7.

Cougar men

Washington State is at Arizona with an 8 p.m. Thursday start before visiting Arizona State at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Thursday's game is on Fox Sports 1 and Saturday's on ESPN2.

Husky women

The UW entertains Oregon at 7 p.m. Friday and Oregon State at noon Sunday with both on Pac-12WA.

Cougar women

WSU hosts Oregon State at 7 p.m. Friday and Oregon at noon Sunday with both on Pac-12ORE.

Husky baseball

Washington goes to Corpus Christi, Texas to play Pittsburgh at noon Friday, Texas A&M at 4 p.m. Saturday and Maryland at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Husky softball

The Huskies visit Stetson at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in DeLand, Fla. before visiting South Florida for a tournament.

They play Oklahoma State at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, South Florida at 1 p.m. Thursday, Pittsburgh at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Loyola Chicago at 1 p.m. Friday and Yale at 4 p.m. Saturday.
