Tuputala comes through
Federal Way High School graduate Alphonzo Tuputala came through in a big way for the University of Washington football team in its thrilling 36-33 win over Oregon Saturday.
The senior linebacker racked up eight tackles and one assisted tackle for the undefeated Huskies.
Locke stands out at WWU
Todd Beamer graduate Brandon Locke is a co-captain for the Western Washington University men's soccer team as a senior goalkeeper.
The 6-foot, 3-inch Locke has started all 11 games for the Vikings of Bellingham, amassing 28 saves.
Locke has a total of 126 saves to show for his career. He also has one career scoring assist that came last year.
Junk shuts down Cubs
Decatur graduate Janson Junk of the Milwaukee Brewers shut out the Chicago Cubs over 2.2 innings in his team's regular season-ending 4-0 win Sunday, Oct. 1.
Junk finished the Major League portion of his year with an 0-1 record and 4.91 earned run average in 7.2 innings over two games.
He struck out five, including three in the finale, when he walked none.
Brigham finishes 1-3
Thomas Jefferson graduate Jeff Brigham posted a 1-3, 5.26 record this year as a reliever for the New York Mets.
Brigham worked 37.2 innings over 37 appearances.
Still scores pair of goals
Thomas Jefferson graduate Hailey Still has scored two goals and one assist for the University of Washington women's soccer team this fall.
The 5-4 senior forward has played in all 14 games for the Huskies, starting in the last two.
