Soundview of Northeast Tacoma, Browns Point and other parts of the city suffered a 5-0 shutout loss at the hands of the Mountain Region champion Sunday morning.
It was the team's first loss in its third game at the Little League World Series after a 2-0 start in the action in Williamsport, Penn.
Soundview plays again at noon Pacific time Tuesday against the winner of a Monday meeting between the Southeast and Mid Atlantic champions.
Soundview won the Northwest Region and Washington state titles earlier after taking a loss and now must do it again to take the United States title and play the International champion for the World championship.
The tournament is for all-star baseball players ages 10-12.
