Baseball

Jackson 4, Federal Way 2

Federal Way's stay at state was a short one as it lost its regional opener to Jackson of Everett Saturday morning.

The action took place at Heritage Park right next to Rogers High School on Puyallup's South Hill.

The Eagles needed to win that game and a second one that afternoon to make next Friday's Class 4A state semifinals in Everett.

Fastpitch softball

Decatur 6, Sumner 4

Decatur at least got started off on the right foot at the District 3/4 Class 4A tournament played at the Kent Service Club, defeating the Sumner Spartans in a close game Friday afternoon.

Skyview 8, Decatur 4

The Gators turned around to take a loss in their second game Friday evening.

Battle Ground 5, Decatur 1

Decatur was bumped from the tournament by Battle Ground on Saturday.

Gig Harbor 15, TJ 6

Gig Harbor's Tides turned back the Raiders as the District 3/4 Class 3A tournament opened Thursday morning at the Regional Athletic Complex in Lacey.

Lakes 10, TJ 3

Thomas Jefferson's season ended with the early Thursday afternoon defeat.
