Baseball
It's two wins or go home time for the Federal Way High School baseball team.
The Eagles find themselves in that situation entering state Class 4A regional action Saturday, with only the regional champion advancing to next week's state final four at Funko Field in Everett.
Step one for Federal Way comes at 10 a.m. at Heritage Park located next to Rogers High School on Puyallup's South Hill, where the Eagles will play Jackson of Everett.
Win that game and the Eagles go on to play again at approximately 4 p.m. on the same field. They would play the winner of the 1 p.m. regional game between Puyallup and Hanford.
Fastpitch softball
Decatur is putting its season on the line at the Class 4A District 3/4 tournament this weekend at the Kent Service Club.
The Gators open the tournament at 3 p.m. Friday against the Sumner Spartans.
They will play again at 5:30 p.m. win or lose.
A win advances them into a winner-to-state tournament quarterfinal at that time against the winner between Skyview and Graham-Kapowsin.
A loss would drop them into a loser-out situation starting with a 5:30 p.m. game against the loser of the Skyview and Graham-Kapowsin game. Decatur would have to win that game and a 10 a.m. Saturday contest to get another shot at state.
The tournament semifinals are both scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Saturday for the winners of their first two games, with the championship slated for 3 p.m. Saturday. The game for third and fourth would be at the same time.
Seven teams advance to state action next week.
