Cassanda Atkins of Federal Way High School leaped to two championships at the state girls track and field meet held this past weekend at the Mount Tahoma stadium in Tacoma.
Atkins won the Class 4A triple jump title with an effort of 40 feet, 8.50 inches and she took the long jump at a distance of 19-03.75.
Atkins also snagged second place in the 200-meter dash running event with a time of 25.32 seconds with teammate Soukhanya Waters taking seventh in 26.43.
Federal Way added a second place finish in the 4X100-meter relay at 48.17.
Waters was also fourth in the 100-meter dash at 12.73.
Candace Nhye of Todd Beamer took third in the 3A 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.40 and placed seventh in the 300-meter hurdles in 46.99.
Thomas Jefferson's Jaylah Jackson finished fourth in the 3A 100-meter dash with a 12.58 clocking.
Sonya Faamalele of Federal Way captured sixth place in the 4A shot put at 37-10.50.
