Soundview Little League of Northeast and other parts of Tacoma started off on the right foot in Northwest Region action Saturday, topping the Oregon team by a 5-3 score.
Soundview already advances to the winner's bracket final in the four team Northwest portion of the action in San Bernardino, playing Idaho at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The winner goes straight to 6 p.m. Thursday championship play.
The tournament is for Majors players age 10-12 and the champion goes on to the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.
