Soundview comes up short

Soundview Little League of Northeast Tacoma came up one run short against Bellevue National in Saturday morning state age 9-11 all-star baseball championship play.

Bellevue National won the action at the Lynndale field in Lynnwood by a 6-5 score.

The games are six innings long at that level of play.

Soundview won its first three games at state.  It defeated Ridgefield by a 5-1 score in its opener Saturday, July 11 and blasted Anacortes the next day, 12-1.

The team took on Gig Harbor in a winner's bracket semifinal Tuesday and won, 16-0, but lost to Bellevue National in a 3-0 winner's bracket final Thursday.

Soundview bounced back to top West Seattle, 5-2, in Friday's loser's bracket final.

Soundview entered the tournament as the District 10 champions.
