By Tim Clinton

Decatur and Federal Way both reached the end of the road in the state Class 3A football playoffs this weekend.

The previously undefeated Gators were edged out by Mount Tahoma of Tacoma by a 23-20 score Friday and the Eagles fell, 40-0, to Roosevelt of Seattle in a game played Saturday afternoon.

Decatur was playing on its home field at Federal Way Memorial while Federal Way journeyed to Seattle Memorial to battle the Roughriders.

The Gators finished with a lofty 10-1 overall and the Eagles wound up at 8-3.

Decatur won the North Puget Sound League 3A championship and Federal Way took third behind the Eagles and the Enumclaw Hornets.
