By Tim Clinton

It was an anticlimactic ending to an impressive District 10 Little League age 9-11 all-star softball tournament run for Federal Way National.

National battled back through the loser's bracket to reach Thursday's championship play, only to run up against Bonney Lake/Sumner and take a 19-2 loss.

Federal Way finished with a 3-2 tournament record.

National opened the tournament with a 9-4 win over Chinook, before getting outslugged, 12-7, by South Hill.

Federal Way rebounded for a 12-2 victory over Chinook ahead of an 8-7 Wednesday win over South Hill in the loser's bracket final

That sent the team on to Thursday's championship play.
