Three teams advance

Three Federal Way School District basketball teams advance to the postseason next Saturday.

The Federal Way boys finished in a first place tie with Tahoma in the North Puget Sound League Class 4A division with an 11-1 record and Todd Beamer took second in the NPSL 3A division at 9-3.

Decatur qualified fourth in the NPSL girls 4A division at 6-6.

Federal Way and Todd Beamer will play in the double elimination portion of the West Central District tournament while the Gator girls open with a loser-out game.

Beamer opens at the home of Pierce County League champion Stadium, while the Eagles open with a visit to the South Puget Sound League No. 2 finisher.

Decatur opens at home against SPSL No. 7 Rogers.

All three tournaments continue the following week.

Start times for all of the openers are to be determined.
