Amaya Johnson of Decatur saw an amazing improvement at the state girls swimming and diving meet held this past weekend at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
Johnson captured 14th in the diving competition for Class 4A schools with a score of 252.80 points for 11 dives Thursday.
She came in ranked only 20th with her previous season best of 233.95.
Thomas Jefferson sent one relay team and one individual to the Class 3A swimming portion of the meet.
Emma Calin of the Raiders just missed the consolation finals of the 100-yard breaststroke, taking 18th in Friday's preliminaries with her time of 1 minute, 11.46 seconds.
The top 16 swimmers in each event make at least the consolation finals with the top eight making the finals.
Calin came into the meet ranked 16th in 1:11.04.
TJ took 20th in the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 4:01.25 after coming in ranked 22nd in 4:03.99.
Calin was joined by Fiona Policarpio, Sam Kahn and Erin Bae on the relay team.
