Gator gridders improve to 3-0

By Tim Clinton

Decatur decimated Kentridge by a 60-14 score at French Field Thursday evening, running its overall record to 3-0 for the young football season.

The Gators are now 1-0 in North Puget Sound League Class 4A Division play.

Their previous two wins were against Class 3A NPSL teams.  They beat Kentlake by a 48-7 margin Thursday, Aug. 31 and shut out Thomas Jefferson, 46-0, Saturday, Sept. 9.

Decatur's probable biggest test of the year awaits Saturday, Sept. 23 when it pays a 1 p.m. visit to Kennedy Catholic at Highline Memorial Stadium in Burien.

The Lancers are 1-1 going into a home game against Kentwood this Saturday, but were last year's state Class 4A runner up behind Lake Stevens.

Kennedy Catholic outlasted Highline in its second game, 45-38, after dropping its opener to Regis Jesuit of Colorado, 36-33.
