A Look Ahead

Pros

Mariners

Seattle will be battling to stay in the thick of the postseason picture as it goes to Tampa Bay for four games this week.

The Mariners play the Wild Card leading Rays at 3:40 p.m. Thursday and Friday ahead of a 1:05 p.m. Saturday contest.  The two teams go at it again at 10:10 a.m. Sunday.

Seattle comes home to T-Mobile Park to take on the Los Angeles Angels at 6:40 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 1:10 p.m. Wednesday.

Mariners games are carried on ROOT Sports Northwest and Saturday's game can also be found on FS1.

Seahawks

Seattle kicks off its regular season Sunday, hosting the Los Angeles Rams for a 1:20 p.m. game at T-Mobile Park.

Channel 13 will televise the action live.

Sounders

Seattle is off until Saturday, Sept. 16 when it visits Dallas for a 5:30 p.m. match on AppleTV+.

Storm

Seattle visits Dallas for a 5 p.m. Friday women's basketball game to be shown on the ION network before hosting Los Angeles for a noon Sunday season finale at the Climate Pledge Arena.

Fox 13+ will air Sunday's game.

OL Reign

The women's soccer squad is off until Saturday, Sept. 16 when it visits Portland for a 7:30 p.m. match on Fox 13+.

Rainiers

Tacoma visits the Salt Lake City Bees for 5:35 p.m. games Thursday, Friday and Saturday and for a 12:05 p.m. contest Sunday.

The Rainiers travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Dodgers at 5:05 p.m. Tuesday and 12:05 p.m. Wednesday.

Aquasox

Everett entertains the Eugene Emeralds for a 7:05 p.m. game Thursday ahead of a 1:05 p.m. Friday matinee and a 7:05 p.m. Saturday clash.

The Aquasox end their season with Sunday's 4:05 p.m. game.

Emerald Downs

The Auburn oval opens for horse racing action at 5 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Colleges

Husky football

Washington hopes to build on its No. 8 national ranking and 1-0 record when it hosts Tulsa at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The game will be shown on the Pac-12 network.

Cougar football

Washington State University also stands at 1-0 heading into a 4:30 p.m. Saturday home game against Wisconsin in the Palouse.

Channel 4 will televise the action.

Husky volleyball

Washington hosts Memphis for a 7 p.m. Thursday match ahead of 7 p.m. Friday home action against UNLV.

High schools

Football

Thomas Jefferson gets a 1 p.m. Saturday visit from crosstown rival Decatur at Auburn Memorial.

Decatur's Gators are coming off an impressive 48-7 victory over Kentlake in last Thursday's opener while the Raiders were edged at Capital, 21-18.

Todd Beamer, meanwhile, goes south to the Vancouver area to take on Battle Ground at noon Saturday as Federal Way heads over the Cascade Mountains to play West Valley of Yakima at 1 p.m.

Beamer was outscored at Interlake, 41-26, in its opener Friday as Federal Way fell at Eastlake, 40-6.

Girls soccer

Federal Way hosts Auburn for a 4:30 p.m. match on its practice field Thursday as Decatur goes to Kentlake and Thomas Jefferson to Tahoma at 7:30 p.m.

Todd Beamer will be at home facing Kennedy Catholic at 5 p.m.

The Titans entertain Kentwood at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday as Decatur hosts Auburn-Riverside, with Thomas Jefferson hosting Kennedy Catholic and Federal Way going to Kent-Meridian at 7:30 p.m.

Volleyball

Federal Way hosts Todd Beamer for a 7:15 p.m. Thursday match and Decatur entertains Thomas Jefferson at the same time.

Decatur hosts Kent-Meridian at the same time Monday as Federal Way gets a visit from Auburn Mountainview, TJ a visit from Kentridge and Todd Beamer a trip to Kentwood.

TJ entertains Auburn and Decatur hosts Tahoma at the same time Wednesday as Federal Way travels to Burien to play Kennedy Catholic.

Girls swimming

Thomas Jefferson hosts Auburn Mountainview for a 3 p.m. Tuesday meet at the King County Aquatic Center and Federal Way travels to the Foster pool in Tukwila to take on Kennedy Catholic at 2:30 p.m.

Cross country

Thomas Jefferson opens with a home meet against Auburn-Riverside Wednesday as Todd Beamer races Auburn at Game Farm Park and Federal Way visits Mount Rainier in Des Moines.

Girls races start at 4 p.m. and the boys begin at 4:45 p.m.

Boys golf

Todd Beamer hosts Kentwood at 3:15 p.m. Thursday at Twin Lakes before visiting Kentridge at Fairwood next Tuesday.

Decatur visits Kent-Meridian at Riverbend this Friday and drops in on Kentwood at Meridian Valley Tuesday.

Federal Way hosts Kennedy Catholic at North Shore this coming Wednesday.

Girls golf

Thomas Jefferson travels to Glen Acres to face Kennedy Catholic at 3:15 p.m. Thursday before hosting Tahoma at Riverbend on Friday.

Todd Beamer visits Kentwood at Meridian Valley this Thursday and hosts Kentridge at Twin Lakes next Tuesday.

Federal Way journeys to Washington National to play Kentlake on Thursday before hosting Mount Rainier at North Shore Tuesday.

Decatur, meanwhile, is at Fairwood against Kentridge this Thursday and at home at Twin Lakes against Kentwood Tuesday.
