Wilder conducts hoops school

Former Decatur High School basketball star Quincy Wilder is now sharing his knowledge of basketball -- and life --  with youngsters at his ongoing Q-Time Basketball school in the nearby town of Pacific.

It is taking place at the City Hall gymnasium in the community south of Auburn and can be reached at (206) 657-6344.

Rowe playing for Sounders

Federal Way graduate Kelyn Rowe is still playing midfielder for the Seattle Sounders professional men's soccer team.

Rowe has scored one goal for the Sounders this year and played in 17 matches.

Tuputala returns for Huskies

Federal Way graduate Alphonzo Tuputala is back as a junior linebacker for the University of Washington football team that kicks into action this coming Saturday with a home game against Boise State.

Tuputala checks in at 6-foot, 2-inches tall and weighs 240 pounds.

Brigham now at Syracuse

Thomas Jefferson graduate Jeff Brigham is currently pitching for Syracuse of the New York Mets organization.

Brigham saw most of this year's action with the parent club, however, posting an 0-2 record and a 5.16 earned run average over 29.2 innings with 33 strikeouts.  He was 0-1, 10.00 with six strikeouts in nine innings for Syracuse at last report.

Brigham is a right-handed reliever who started for the Miami Marlins early in his career.  He is 31 years old.

Junk pitching for Nashville

Decatur graduate Janson Junk has spent time with both the Milwaukee Brewers and their minor league team in Nashville this summer.

Junk was 0-1, 7.71 for the Brewers but is now with the Class AAA Sounds with a 6-8 record and 4.37 ERA.  He has 74 strikeouts in 111.1 innings of work over 21 games.
