A Look Ahead

High school

Volleyball

Decatur and Federal Way will both be playing in the District 3 tournament in Tacoma.

The Gators open with a 5 p.m. match against Gig Harbor in the Silas gymnasium and the Eagles will take on Timberline at the same at Mount Tahoma.

Both teams will play at least one more match no matter the outcome.

Girls swimming

The King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way will be the site of all state swimming and diving action this Friday and Saturday.

Class 4A preliminaries in both competitions starts at 9 a.m. Friday, followed by Class 1A/2A at 1:30 p.m. and the Class 3A action involving Federal Way School District athletes at 6:15 p.m.

The Class 4A finals begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, with the 1A/2A at 1:45 p.m. and the 3A at 7 p.m.

Pros

Seahawks

The high-flying Seattle Seahawks travel to Los Angeles to take on the Rams at 1:05 p.m. Sunday.

The two teams are tied for first place in the NFC West with 7-2 records.

Kraken

Seattle hosts the Winnipeg Jets for a 5 p.m. Thursday game at the Climate Pledge Arena and the San Jose Sharks visit at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Kraken visit the Detroit Red Wings at 4 p.m. Tuesday and the Chicago Blackhawks at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Thunderbirds

The Seattle junior hockey team entertains Prince Albert for 7:05 p.m. Friday action at the accesso Showare Center in Kent.

Colleges

Husky football

Washington gets a 4 p.m. Saturday visit from Purdue at Husky Stadium.

Cougar football

Washington State plays host to Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m. Saturday at Martin Stadium in Pullman.

Husky vs. Cougar men's basketball

The UW visits Washington State for an 8 p.m. Friday game.

Southern Utah visits the Huskies at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and drops in on the Cougars at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Husky women's basketball

Washington pays a visit to Utah at 6 p.m. Saturday and hosts Fresno State at the same time Wednesday.

Cougar women's basketball

WSU entertains Stanford for a 4 p.m. Friday game and Oregon visits at the same time Wednesday.
