Magnolia of Seattle managed to shut down the potent bats of Federal Way National in a 5-0 winner's bracket final game of the state Major Little League softball tournament for ages 10-12 played Thursday.
National, which is hosting the tournament at its complex near the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, falls into a 6 p.m. Friday loser's bracket final against Mill Creek.
Mill Creek was a 15-0 winner over Seattle Central in a Thursday loser's bracket game.
Friday's winner must beat Magnolia twice in Saturday championship play to win the double-elimination tournament.
The provisional championship starts at noon Saturday with any if-necessary game to be played at 3 p.m.
Federal Way National opened with a 9-1 victory over Mill Creek this past Sunday before pounding Anacortes, 14-1, Tuesday.
