Gators, Eagles eye playoffs

By Tim Clinton

Playoff time has arrived for both the Decatur and Federal Way football teams.

The Gators host Bishop Blanchet of Seattle's Metro League for 7 p.m. Friday action at Federal Way Memorial.

The Eagles will be there at 6 p.m. Saturday taking on Ferndale from the Bellingham area.

Both games are Class 3A multi-district games that send the winners on to next week's state playoff openers.

Decatur remains undefeated at 9-0 overall going into Friday's action, winning the North Puget Sound League's 3A division with an 8-0 record.

The Gators capped off their regular season with a 54-0 victory over Todd Beamer last Thursday.

Federal Way finished third in NPSL 3A action at 6-2 behind Decatur and the Enumclaw Hornets (7-1, 8-1).

The Eagles improved to 7-2 overall with a 65-0 win over Thomas Jefferson last Friday.

TJ's Raiders and the Todd Beamer Titans finish with non-playoff crossover games this week.

The Raiders drop in on Auburn-Riverside at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Auburn Memorial and the Titans travel to Central Kitsap of Silverdale at 7 p.m. Friday.

Todd Beamer finished at 4-4 in NPSL 3A play and is also 4-4 overall.

TJ wound up 1-7 in the NPSL 3A division and stands at 1-8 overall.
