Federal Way ends its regular season with a 7 p.m. Thursday visit to Kennedy Catholic and Decatur hosts Tyee for its finale at 7 p.m. Friday as Thomas Jefferson entertains Todd Beamer.

Girls basketball

Federal Way finishes its season with a 7 p.m. Thursday home game against Kennedy Catholic.

The Titans ran their record to 8-2 in North Puget Sound League 3A Division play and improved to 14-2 overall.

They are second in the division behind Auburn (10-0, 16-1).

Federal Way won two out of three last week including Saturday's victory over the Rams.

The Eagles are second in the NPSL 4A Division at 10-2, 15-5 behind the 8-1, 13-5 mark of Tahoma.

Federal Way schools all 3A for 2024-28

It took some doing, but the four Federal Way schools will all be together for the 2024-28 classification cycle.

Decatur, Federal Way, Thomas Jefferson and Todd Beamer will all be competing in the Class 3A division of the North Puget Sound League.

Todd Beamer was actually small enough to be a Class 2A school but opted up to join its local rivals and save on travel.

Thomas Jefferson and Federal Way are large enough to be 4A based on their average actual enrollment, but fell to 3A on their adjusted enrollment for their direct certification percentage.

Federal Way and Decatur are both 4A in the current cycle that ends this spring while TJ and Todd Beamer are 3A.

Auburn Mountainview will join the Federal Way schools in 3A along with Kentlake and Kent-Meridian and newcomers Enumclaw and White River in a nine-team division.

Auburn and Auburn-Riverside move up to 4A this time around to join returning members Mount Rainier, Kennedy Catholic, Tahoma, Kentwood and Kentridge.

Stadium of Tacoma may join the 4A NPSL mix as well.

TJ has an actual average enrollment of 1,308.13, while Federal Way checks in at 1,219.38.  Decatur averages 1,004.00 students and Todd Beamer 992.25 according to numbers released by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.

TJ's adjusted enrollment is 1,164.24 and Federal Way's 1,024.28.  Decatur is at 953.80 and Todd Beamer at 823.57.

Class 3A numbers for adjusted enrollment are 900 to 1,200 and 4A 1,201 and up.  Class 2A is 450 to 899.

Schools can opt up or appeal to move down as well.

Federal Way will be playing Mount Rainier in a 7 p.m. Saturday home game as TJ goes to Kentlake and Todd Beamer to Auburn-Riverside.

Decatur hosts Mount Rainier at 7 p.m. Tuesday and TJ will entertain Auburn-Riverside as Todd Beamer travels to Auburn Mountainview.

Federal Way hosts Kentwood at 6 p.m. Wednesday as Todd Beamer entertains Kentlake, Thomas Jefferson travels to Auburn-Riverside and Decatur to Tahoma.

Gymnastics

Decatur and Thomas Jefferson travel to Kent-Meridian with Kentwood and Kentridge for a 7 p.m. Wednesday meet as Todd Beamer goes to Kentlake with Auburn and Auburn-Riverside.

Federal Way is at Auburn Mountainview with Mount Rainier and Tahoma.

Girls flag football

Todd Beamer plays Mount Rainier at noon Saturday at Federal Way Memorial and Decatur will be there at the same time playing Evergreen.

At 1 p.m. it will be Todd Beamer playing Evergreen and Decatur battling Mount Rainier.

Federal Way and Thomas Jefferson will both be at Kentwood at noon Saturday with TJ playing the Conquerors and the Eagles facing Kentlake.

Federal Way plays Kentwood at 1 p.m. as TJ clashes with Kentlake.

Seattle hosts the Chicago Blackhawks for 7 p.m. Wednesday hockey action at the Climate Pledge Arena before entertaining St. Louis at the same time Friday and Columbus at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Husky football

Riding the crest of a 37-31 semifinal victory over Texas, the University of Washington football team battles Michigan for the national championship at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Houston.

The game will be televised live on ESPN cable.

Wearing the No. 11 on defense for the Huskies is Federal Way graduate Alphonzo Tuputala, a senior linebacker.

Husky men

Washington hosts the Oregon Ducks for a 6 p.m. basketball game Thursday before entertaining the Oregon State Beavers at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Both games can be seen on the Pac-12 network.

Cougar men

Washington State entertains Oregon State at 8 p.m. Thursday in Pullman and Oregon comes to town for a 7 p.m. Saturday game 

Thursday's action will be carried on the Pac-12 network and Saturday's on ESPNU.

Husky women

The UW visits California at 7 p.m. Friday and Stanford at 1 p.m. Sunday with both on Pac-12BAY.

Cougar women

Washington State drops in on Stanford for 7 p.m. Friday action before visiting California at noon Sunday.

Friday's game will be shown on the Pac-12 network and Sunday's on Pac-12WA.

Seahawks

Seattle wraps up its regular season Sunday, visiting the Arizona Cardinals at 1:25 p.m. on Channel 13.

Kraken

Seattle entertains the Ottawa Senators for 7 p.m. Thursday action at the Climate Pledge Arena before visiting the Buffalo Sabers at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Both games will be aired on ROOT Sports Northwest.

Thunderbirds

Seattle hosts Prince George for 7:05 p.m. Friday action at the Showare Center in Kent and visits Everett at 6:05 p.m. Saturday.

Everett pays a 7 p.m. Friday visit to Portland before coming home to the Angel of the Winds Arena to face Seattle at 6:05 p.m. Saturday

Federal Way, TJ and Auburn are at Kentwood for 5 p.m. Thursday action as Todd Beamer goes to Kentlake with Mount Rainier at Kennedy Catholic.

Decatur goes to Auburn Mountainview with Tahoma and Kent-Meridian at 6 p.m.

Federal Way goes to Curtis and Decatur to Oak Harbor for 10 a.m. Saturday tournament action.

Todd Beamer pummeled the Pirates Friday in the championship game of Highline's holiday tournament in Burien.

It was the third straight tournament victory in as many days for the Titans.

Decatur 71, Chief Sealth 65

The Gators defeated the Seahawks of West Seattle in a Friday non-league game.

Federal Way 77, Silas 46

Thursday's win gave the Eagles their third straight in three days for the Silas holiday tournament title.

Silas is located in Tacoma.

Todd Beamer 68, Eisenhower 42

The Titans easily handled the Cadets of Yakima in the Highline tournament Thursday.

Todd Beamer opened tournament play Wednesday, plastering the Patriots of Parkland.

The Eagles sank their talons into the Redhawks' team Wednesday.

Sammamish used to be known as the Totems before undergoing a name change.
