Sports Wrap

By Tim Clinton

It can be so simple.

If Decatur wins Thursday's 6 p.m. home football game against White River at Federal Way Memorial, it clinches the North Puget Sound League Class 3A title.

But everything will be up in the air if White River emerges victorious.

Decatur boasts a 6-0 record in division play and stands at 7-0 heading into the clash, ahead of the 6-1 division mark of Enumclaw and White River's 5-1.

A win improves the Gators to 7-0 in the division and drops the Hornets two games back with one to go.  Enumclaw could still finish with one loss along with Decatur, but the Gators own the tiebreaker by virtue of their early season win in head-to-head competition.

A White River win creates a logjam for first at one loss.

Decatur remained undefeated with its 62-0 win over Kentlake last Thursday while White River defeated Kent-Meridian, 46-7, the same night.

Federal Way 34, Todd Beamer 10

Federal Way improved to 4-2 in NPSL 3A play and to 5-2 overall with Friday's victory over Todd Beamer.

The Titans fell to an even 3-3, 3-3.

Federal Way entertains Kentlake at 1 p.m. Saturday and Todd Beamer visits Thomas Jefferson at 7 p.m. Friday.
